Huge thank you to Goldie for all that he does to make Atlarge a fun event for so many of us: for graciously opening his home to the group and hosting an excellent cocktail party and for handling all of the organizational work with the Borgata.

Enjoyed great meals and wonderful company at Chef Vola and the Knife and Fork!

Great to see old friends, play poker, and have a few days without the responsibilities of work and home!

Fun hand from 20-40 holdem: UTG limps, I (UTG+1) raise with 77, next player calls, next player folds, SB calls, BB 3 bets, UTG calls, I call next player calls and SB calls. Flop is 774, SB checks, BB bets, everyone calls. Turn is a T, SB checks, BB bets, UTG folds. With 2 players left to act I thought there was more value in calling than raising so I just called but the other 2 players folded. I forget the river but the BB bet, I raised and he paid me off. This happened at around 3 am (after the high hand promotion ended).

Fun hand from 2-5 NL: Effective stacks are 700. UTG (weak player, of the hands he played he open limped/open raised about 60%/40%) raised to 15, next 2 players fold, and I make it 45 with AA, next 2 players and the blinds fold, UTG makes it 100. I consider 5 betting to about 250 or flatting since I have position. I chose to flat. Flop is Q97 and he bets 45. It seemed like a polarizing bet (he's making a small bet with a monster or a small bet with a weak hand). I chose to just call. The turn was an 8 and he bet 50. I raised to 200 and he went in the tank. He was visibly stressed (or hollywooding big time) but ultimately called. The river was a 4, he checked. With almost 700 in the pot, I bet 350 (about what he had left). He thought for about 20 seconds and folded.
